'Our main mission in life is not to try and hold onto the concept of 'happiness' but rather to pursue and discover a self-worth'
This is a book that I must reread every year of my life.
Today is the first day of the rest of my life.

Please have realistic expectations from the book before you read it. A book on its own cannot possibly change anyone's life. That's exactly what I loved about this book, because it has a lot of emphasis on action. Most 'Self-help' books write endlessly on the power of positive thinking. But this one is based on Action! Loved it!

So, I initially became interested in this book, as I searched for titles that could help out a troubled family member. It caught my attention, so I gave it a go. Slightly sceptical about the thought of a self-help book, I was initially wary of Chidiac's best seller. However, I became enthralled by DC's mindset on all things life. I was attempting to make a big career change at the time which meant a lot of work outside my normal day to day - this book gave me the drive and motivation to dig a li...more
I would recommend this book to any addict for starters, but beyond that everyone who complains of being stuck in a rut when in reality they're just playing the victim. I strongly encourage you to check your attitude when you think of a goal and say you 'can't': are you playing the victim? Are you making excuses? Honestly, probably. You're capable of far more than you give yourself credit for because decades of repeating self-victimizing phrases and believing restrictive lies has actually engrain...more

This is a very dense book, if you are willing to put the time into reading deeply and completing the tasks inside it. However I thoroughly enjoyed it and plan to read it again to gain further insight.

This book was definitely an eye opener. Tho it can be challenging to take in, Daniel Chidiac is able to level with you on the simplest of levels and get you straight to the source of your truths. The practical application is a MUST! Don't sell yourself short by trying to skip forward!
To keep this short and simple, I think everyone can gain something from reading this book!

Initial thoughts: This book is a lot broader in scope than I had expected! Some chapters weren't relevant to me at this point in my life but they were interesting nonetheless. The great thing is that despite that breadth, Chidiac did not sacrifice depth. The focus of Who Says You Can't? You Do is about helping readers change their mindsets and attitudes, to overcome inertia that has held them back from pursuing their goals.
Some might view this simply as holding on to 'positivity' but this book

It was one of my favorite books for this year. Before reading this book I decided to really make changes with the book. I think both my decision and the book helped me in making changes. The book is simply a way to success. There might be better and easier ways, so if you don’t look at the view while passing through this way you will be just trying/going through a normal way of any other self-help book. Enjoy the views (the special things about this book). I am sure anyone who wants will learn a...more

that helped clear my mind from all doubts and fill it with hope :)
I am not a fan of self-help book to be honest but if there must be one to read and keep, this will be one.

The first 60 pages were pretty good - but it went downhill after that. H just tries to cover too much.
My other problem is how he moves his tone over the book. He starts out as a man who is on a journey to creating a better life - and want to share what he has learned with us. But as the book moves on, he turns into the wise. You can almost feel his youthful look turning old as he writes and the wisdom begins to flow. But that left me doubting him all the more. Just started to feel sleazy - as i

I find this book so useful for the restbof my life; because as I read some paragraphs of this book it could help me to open my mind up.
Rating - 5/5
This self-help, non-fiction book is one of the finest pieces of writings in the market. It mainly focuses on how you can get your life on track towards your goals (whatever they may be) and gives you all the related knowledge. It is a seven step guide to discovering your true self, committing to your own life and pushing beyond your known limits.
The title of the book goes completely with the content of the book. The book does tell you about your own undiscovered powers. It is an ac

The book is trying to transform the way people think. Namely focus on the positive side of the things and be grateful for what you have. In a way it is similar to concepts that are in books similar to the 'The Secret' however the author offers some practical tests. What is good is that the book actually is geared towards taking action. Which is great and I am full onboard with that. The reason for only the 3 stars is that some of the concepts didn't resonate with me and I thought as contradictor...more
Who Says You Can't? You Do - Daniel Chidiac
The title and the cover page (the T erased with a eraser) is interesting but unfortunately the book did not impress me. I felt the author has read too many self help books and picked what ever he found useful or implemented in his life and made a book out of it. Too lengthy book.
I liked the narration..the quotes he has used in almost all pages and the sequence he takes the book from start to finish.
A few instances I did like in the book.. But most loo

Chidiac is not much of a writer. This book could stand a thorough editing job and a decent narrative voice so it doesn’t sound so flat. You’ll have to excuse his inflated ego, too. The book is chock full of anecdotes in which Chidiac recounts a time someone was having a problem and he swooped in and changed their lives with a few simple words. If only it was that easy. At one point he recalls seeing a homeless kid and describes an afterthought in which he decided he had the words to change this...more

I almost DNF'd this book, but instead I skimmed through much of the end of it.
This book had some great valuable information in it (quotes, advice etc in it) but it also had some parts which I disagreed with, disliked and it felt like a waste of time to read. That's a particular shame given the genre of this book, and I just wouldn't recommend it.
His points come across as condescending and pretentious; it felt like he was preaching at me and it made me want to disregard some of his points that I

Review: what a great book about empowerment and chasing after your dreams and visions. This book gives a mix of personal experience and psychological theories surrounding our nature to put up blocks against going after our dreams or visions, for fear they are unachievable or too big or we aren't good enough.
This book gave a lot of practical applications that you can use in your everyday life. I would definitely recommend reading this book! I listened to the audiobook and it was

I'm not even going to try to deny that I got this audiobook because it was narrated by Robbie Daymond. A motivational book read by a super charismatic voice actor? Well, throw me a potato and call me a chef, I'm totally going to listen to it! Suffice it to say I listened to the whole thing in less than a week, but the book is actually pretty nice and heart-warming. It has some cool advices for you to pick yourself up after a fall, it's easy to listen to and I'm definitely going to listen to it a...more
I saw a few quotes from this book on IG and they seemed very positive and uplifting so I bought it. Overall it's good, a lot of it you already know, but it's always good to get some reminders of ways to live a more positive life. It took me a while to finish it, so I always use that as a gauge of my interest. It's basically a self help book, which is always challenging for me to have page after page of someone telling you how to live your life. The parts I disliked were when he would say you can...more

Overall, there were some solid points in this book to help a journey of self-growth. I liked the organization in terms of the steps and exercises, as well as the quotes embedded throughout the book. What I didn’t like is that the author continuously brought the narrative back to him, his personal experiences, and his coaching successes. I understand he’s establishing his ethos and credibility, but I get it. I would rather uncover more strategies and understand the overall purposes and impacts of...more

I must admit, I almost gave up on the book after the first few chapters, but luckily I persevered to push through and am actually getting more out of it listening to it a second time (bought the audiobook). Retraining your brain to make your life happier. Personally I don't think it happens overnight and does take strong focus, but definitely worthwhile using the info Daniel provides. Think I will continue to listen on those bad days, to keep reminding me 'it's not what happens to you, it's how...more
It was a good book hence the 4 stars. Some parts are long and have you stop and do the exercises before continuing. I was on a roll for awhile but when it came time to stop reading for 3 days to complete an exercise, I lost interest in actually finishing the book. Daniel writes very well and I was interested in learning about his journey to sobriety. I have highlighted some parts that really stuck out to me and have been going back to them.
Date I stopped reading was August 30 2018. I'm not techn

amazin book. In some ways it really was an eye opener to not bullshit myself and get my sh*t together honestly and truthfully. Life truly is what you make of it. He chose his words very wisely and his honesty is fresh in todays time of lies and betrayal. Loved it! I needed almost a month to finish that book and truthfully I didn't do all the exercises exactly how he wrote it in that book because some of it I already new from other techniques and I didn't read it for the excercises.
